  • i let my daughter try too and then i take over. i put my finger in her mouth to pull over her lip so i can see what im doin gand usually shes ok with that but when she does fight me i lay her down, i straddle her so that she cant kick me but im not sittig on her and i hold her hands with one arm and hurry as fast as i can and brush those toothies. do u have ur child brush teeth with u? she likes to watch me and copy me so now i find that makes her not fight me so much or i do it a ways before bed so shes not overtired and cranky.

  • We have a rule, she brushes her teeth first, and then I have a turn. My friend does the opposite, she brushes first and then she lets him have a turn. You could try two different tooth brushes, one for him to do and one for you to do, and you can take turns. Just be consistent and he will realize that it is going to happen your way. Good luck.

  • I let my girls brush their teeth first and then I do it. We always say that we have to brush away all those sugar bugs.

  • I bought my daughter a spin brush with a character on it and a regular toothbrush as well. First I brush her teeth with the regular brush and then she "buffs" her teeth with the spin brush. It works for us. She has a lot of fun and she has the cleanest teeth! I never, ever have to fight with her about it.

  • My daughter is only 20 months old. I have to brush her teeth for her otherwise they won't get cleaned. She fights w/ me but I still brush while she's fighting w/ me and trying to pull away from me.

  • Same as jluvskija. I do all the brushing first to make sure they're clean, then I let her brush them after I'm done.
