How do you handle stress?

  • Stress??? Oh..boy do I handle stess..I have 2 little ones with ADHD. I usually lock myself in the bathroom (my office) and tell everyone "mommy needs a time out!" LOL Seriously...I like hot baths, trips to the spa, Beach therapy..a day at the beach, reading, painting and anything that removes me from the source of the stress!!! LOL We all have it and it can either control us or we can control it. I also have found that B vitamins are excellent in helping!! Good luck and take time for yourself!

  • Go in my room alone and read, or go tanning BY MYSELF me time is much needed when im stressed

  • Depends on what the cause is. Sometimes I just need a break from the kids so I "take a break" in the computer room and visit cafemom. Sometimes it's a bit of everything. I've started exercising again and that has been a HUGE help!! I jog in the morning and sometimes walk in the evening if I need some extra stress relief.

  • Scream. Beat up my pillow. Cry. Binge on chocolate (which ultimately stresses me out more due to me trying to lose weight). Play video games. Read Cafe Mom. Take a few minutes to do SOMETHING just for ME.

  • I take some "me" time. I'll usually go into my art room, lay down a blanket and some pillows. Then read or write, or paint.

  • Get out of the house. I am on a bowling league and that is a great way to get away. It is something that I can look forward to every week and it can be a great escape as well!

  • I get a massage. Also, sometimes I go into my room when my daughter is asleep or she is with my husband and watch Lifetime TV by myself.

  • It depends on what I'm stressed out by really. I took a class on stress relief and learned a lot of great techniques that have helped me out no matter how overwhelmed I'm feeling. I wrote about my favorite techniques at the link below if you want to take a look!
