Do you have ideas for healthy snacks?

I am looking for some healthy snack ideas that won't make my pants stretch even further than what they already are. LOL. I need to snack through out the day or I get headaches, the shakes and become very weak. Thank you.

  • DID you know that celery burns more calories to digest than it actually contains (i.e. celery has 5 calories per stick but your body burns 10 calories while digesting it). JUST A THOUGHT!

  • I eat bananas, yougurt (try light because regular can have a lot of sugar and calories), popcorn (100 cal), baby carrots, light cheese sticks. etc. You just have to watch what you are snaking on. If you eat a 100 cal pack of popcorn, you know how many calories and there is portion control. But the regular or extra butter popcorn can have tons of calories.

  • Healthy Choices... celery, almonds, frozen grapes, hard boiled eggs, fruit smoothies, sliced apples, air popped popcorn, sugar-free jello, grape tomatoes, hummus, orange slices, sunflower seeds, protein bars, nonfat yogurt, organic peanut butter...

  • For me its celery, carrot sticks,cucumbers and fat free ranch dressing or fat free veggie dip. Or apples and fat free caramel dip. Good luck

  • Healthy choices for me are lemon fiber bars, low glycemic nutrition bars, cucumbers, carrots, apples with peanut butter, cottage cheese with pears, hummus and whole wheat pita bread, bananas with low-fat string cheese. Always put a carb with a protein, eat lots of fiber based foods, and drink plenty of water!

  • Some healthy stuff I eat: baby carrots, low fat cheese, fruit, guacomole with veggies for dipping, microwave popcorn, pepper strips, nuts. Even a bowl of cereal.

  • Drink an 8oz glass of water before you eat anything, it helps you feel full faster and keeps you hydrated. My favorite snack right now is a cup of Soy-yogurt with a quarter cup of Kashi-Go lean crunch and 2 Tblsp of slivered almonds. It is tasty, filling & super healthy. Keeps me going for a few hours.
    Ditto to the celery too! Be careful of those "Jif-To-Go" cups, each cup is actually TWO servings, you'd be better off with low-fat cream cheese.

  • Any fresh veggies, fresh fruits (not too many though, lots of sugar in some), are all good. Almonds are an extremely healthy choice, full of nutrients and antioxidants. Sugar free jell-o is not vitamin packed, but a sweet treat without damage :) Apples and peanut butter. Parfaits with yogurt, low-fat granola, and fruit. Make choices that are high in fiber, complex carbs (like whole grain crackers) and protein, not so high in simple carbs and fats. Multigrain crackers and low fat cheese are a good choice.

    I was just thinking about your symptoms..have you had your blood sugar tested? It sounds like you may be having hypoglycemic episodes. If you haven't had it checked, I would recommend it.
