Epidural or natural birth - which should I choose?

Epi, oh my friend!! I still felt the contractions and physical birth the last hour. Though I'm sure the pain was dulled. :)

  • I had to have an epidural because I had to have an emergency c-section. :(

  • I had an epidural.....unfortunately my body rejected it and I had natural, painful childbirth! The upside was that I was able to be up and about right after he was born. I'm still trying to decide whether I'll even try it this time around.

  • I had an epi...........my theory is if they make something to stop it from hurting, then why go thru the pain?! LOL! I ended up having an emergency c-section though.

  • I went natural.
Well, kinda. I asked for meds to take the edge off of the contractions, I forget what they gave me, but they offered 100mg of it and I only took 50. I wanted it to be gone (the effect worn off) by the time it was time to push. So the meds were wearing off, and the nurse checked me and said I was dilated to a 9+ (not quiet at 10 yet) and then the doctor came in and checked me and said I was barely an 8, and they gave me the other 50mg. and I started pushing 20 mins later...but it was gone by the time she started to crown....so yeah. Kinda natural, lol.

  • I went natural. Best part was kicking everybody out and taking a shower.

  • There's nothing like not being entirely sure your ass is still there!!!

I had an epi, but they screwed up the first time (I only went numb on one side!!!) so I ended up with 2!

  • All three of mine were natural. Epidurals weren't as common when I had my children and I'm not sure I would have wanted one anyway. The thought of a needle in my spine is more scary than the worry about pain.
