  • Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do to make her hair grow. Just make sure she's eating the foods that she needs (you know, getting all the vitamins and minerals that she needs) and relax. She'll get hair eventually.

Don't listen to the old wives tales (like the ponytail thing). It's like believing the people who tell you that if you cut your eyelashes they will grow in thicker.

  • No. If anything the opposite is true. Ponytail holders - no matter which type or how "soft" they are - break the hair.

  • Ponytails will cause damage to her delicate hair. There is nothing you can do to promote hair growth...and the pnytail will break off the hair she does have and make it look worse just be patient.

  • My almost 2 yo son was BALD at birth and had little hair at a year.  We had his first haircut on the 13th of last month (and it was very little hair).  Her hair will grow on it's own schedule and pretty soon you'll be wondering where the heck all that hair came from.  I think baldies are precious because they show us how beautiful a child can be regardless of how much hair they have.

  • my mom told me i was pretty much bald until i was 2! It's a curse; baby boys always have beautiful silky hair and long luscious lashes and girls get nothing! but I wouldn't agree with the ponytails. I see a lot of little babies with their hair in cornrows and I know it's gotta hurt! Tight ponytails give me a headache, so they'd probably give your daughter a headache too
