How can I move into more advanced crochet patterns?

  • I definitely don't recommend starting on doilies BTW lots of counting and intricate stitches!

  • I like take-along projects like crocheted granny squares or knitted squares that can be sewn into an afghan once I've finished enough of them.

    I also recommend dishcloths/washcloths for beginner projects because you can practice your skills & learn new stitches without getting bogged down by a full sized project.
