How long after giving birth can I have sex?

Its been a month now and I had natural birth,2 stitches are healed and I MISS my Husband! Lol u think its safe for us to make love again?

I waited 2 weeks and I had a tear and an episiotomy. Just take it slow, use protection and have lube on hand.

i only waited 2 1/2 weeks. like you i only had two stitches...in the inside. its amazing how fast things can heal down there. just go SLOW and if it hurts..then stop. jus thave fun

I only waited 4 weeks. I think it's safe. Not sure of any medical issues, but if it was me I'd go ahead.

GO AHEAD!! It might hurt though...watch it:) AND USE PROTECTION! I have two kids that are 9.5 months apart because I didn't use protection right after I had my son:/. I LOVE them dearly, but it's not easy!

They recommend 6, but we waited 2. I had a c-section and intercourse was utterly painful. It still is and I am 4 months postpartum. I think that if you feel okay then go for it.

The docs recommend 6 weeks for a reason. I would wait the 6 weeks after the OB appt. If you get the green light go for it!

You have waited longer than I did with either of mine. After I delivered my first we only waited 3 weeks and after my second we waited 2 weeks. If you are no longer bleeding and it does not hurt, than you should be ok. If it starts to hurt at all stop and wait a few days. My doctor told me as long as I wasn't bleeding and it didnt' hurt it was ok. Congratulations!

With all three of my children I only waited I think 3 weeks was the longest and everything was fine.... if it is your first child I would say wait til that appointment after 6 weeks just to get the go ahead incase you dont realize if something isn't right. If this isnt your first I would say if you feel fine go for it and take it slow and easy and if it hurts really bad then stop and try a week later just listen to your body and if you feel ready then go ahead it's more than likley gonna be fine, and some doctors are down to only a four week waiting period now anyhow but like i said it's ur body if its ready go for it!! And i agree with the above post it's GREAT that you miss your hubby!! GOOD LUCK

the DR usually says wait till your 6 week check up so he can ok you to go ahead - congrats on beating the odds most take a long time to want any after birth
