Do you have dinner ideas for my toddler?

My 14 month old is still in the process of transitioning from baby foods to "table foods." some days he will eat table foods, others he refuses. i am trying to think of variety of things i can introduce for him at mealtimes, other than just grilled cheese, sandwiches, etc. Any thoughts?

  • You could try macaroni and cheese with hotdogs. My kids always loved that.

  • Different shaped pastas. My daughter used to love Pasta w/broccoli (cooked until soft) and butter w/parmesan cheese. I used to cook the broccoli with the pasta.
My sister used to serve her kids rice w/peas. She would cook a bunch and freeze the rest.
Spaghettios, mashed potatoes, slice of cheese. That's all I can think of...hope this helps.

  • Ziti is always a good choice (they like to put them on their fingers). Italian Soup- my neice use to call it the meatball soup. Have you tried the toddler meals (graduates)? Feeding a toddler is never as easy as it seems it would be.

  • Some healthy lunch/dinner options would be: whole wheat pasta with some spaghetti sauce, fruit and veggies cut up small, pieces of chicken or pork cut into bite sized pieces, soup with crackers, celery with peanut butter and raisin on it (ants on a log).
