Is the second pregnancy typically easier or harder than the first pregnancy?

I have 5 children. My first 4 children were born vaginal. I had to have stitches after my 1st, and it hurt BAD! The recovery period was about 1wk. The other 3 all were easier, but I labored for about the same period of time (17-20hrs). I wasn't sore or in pain after the birth, went back to myself a few hours later. My last baby, I had to have a c-section, and ended up getting my tubes tied, also, cuz I just can't go through that again. So, you just never can tell, how your births are gonna go. I think each pregnancy gets harder because the body has to go through so much all over again. For me any way.

well, every pregnancy is different so this one can either be easier or harder then the 1st.

as for labor, i believe it goes quicker than the 1st. (mine did)

just take it easy, relax, and take things one day at a time.

My second pregnancy was way easier. But I attribute that to eating healthier and doing prenatal yoga. My daughter wouldn't let me eat anything unhealthy. lol

I don't know really if labor and delivery were easier. With my oldest I had an epidural before the labor even became painful...I hardly ever felt a contraction. They also gave me a c-section because teh epidural nearly stopped my labor. *sigh*

With my daughter I knew better and delivered her at home and completely natural. It was a little difficult but not nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. I felt great after!

My 2nd was soooo much easier than the first which was a nightmare! Every woman and every pregnancy is different though. Too many variables to predict accurately what will or wont happen during each one.

How hard or easy it is on you varies.
However, it's easier in the aspect that you already know what to expect.

Both of my pregnancies have been about the same, but the 2nd one has been a little easier b/c I know what to expect. I'm not as nervous about labor b/c I've done it before, you know? Anything could happen, but I'm going to trust that my body will react about the same as it did the first time... that might be a little optimistic of me, but I'm OK with that. Good luck to you.

My second was easier than the first, but the 3rd was WAY easier than both of them. Most people say it gets easier after the first, but everyone is different.
