  • My children napped until they were going to kindergarden. But now my grandkids are trying to stop napping at 2 or 3!! So I make them have "rest" time now. They have to lay down either in bed or on the couch, and watch a movie, or read, or play with a small toy. But they have to lay there and rest quietly. This gives me the same break as if they were napping. If they are actually tired they will fall asleep. My 2 year old always falls asleep, my 3 year old doesn't usually fall asleep.

  • We do a quiet time. They can look at books, or play on their bed quietly, if they don't fall asleep they go to bed early

  • I agree, Quite time, we call it Rest time, I teach Pre-K. Even if the kids don't fall asleep, they still need the rest and I can see a difference on days when they don't get it.

  • My kids don't even have a quiet time. And when I was working my daycare would ask if you wanted them to be given a nap at that age. I didn't want my kids taking naps at 4, they were up half the night then.
