Do you have tips for cruising with a toddler?

I've been on several cruises, but never with a child. We will be sailing on the Carnival Glory in May with our daughter (who will be 3 by then), so I'm looking for any and all tips.

  • I would check out the childcare services and activities they have before you go. Take along a special toy, stuffed animal, story book, music, so things are familiar. Depending on what there is for a three year old, decide if you need to bring games, toys, books, etc. Talk to you SO, husband about your comfort level with a babysitter in the room or leaving her in a childcare center during the cruise, just so you are on the same page regarding your time together. I would also contact the cruiseline about dining arrangments: time and seating. Perhaps there is another child of her age and gender who could be seated at your table. I would think you prefer an earlier dinner time so request it in advance. I hope you have alot of fun and share your experiences when you get home!
