  • oh i should have mentioned that my son was allergic to the proteins in cows milk.. so he either nursed on me, or went on soy formula.. funny though, they almost smell the same.. and he was so great on any bottle, or me and now, i just switch back and forth.. good luck, some moms wait longer than others..

  • I drink one cup of coffee in the morning without effecting the baby, I have read its ok for 2cups, but I have never had a colicky baby. You can always do decaf but I am not sure that will be any comfort.

  • Dealing with a screaming infant at 2 a.m. is very hard when you are exhausted. My son became colicky whenever I ate rice, beans, broccoli, cauliflower and drank milk. I stayed away from that stuff until he started eating baby food. As for the coffee, I don't think that a cup or two of coffee will hurt the baby.

  • Colic isn't always caused by what a mom eats....

  • At about 7-8 weeks my son starting getting sensitive to the cow proteins from the milk I was drinking. It was heartbreaking not to be able to nurse him full time after that, but it was better for him...

  • i kept a journal of what i ate for awhile and compared it w/the daycare worker's notes on when she was fussy. i had to adjust some things in my diet, and it was really hard, but i tried to take the opporturnity to view the situation as improving my own health as well as giving her the best possible nutrition. by the time i was done breastfeeding her after 8 months, i didn't miss most of the things i'd given up and actually stuck w/the revised diet for about 6 months after i stopped.

  • i stopped eating anything with dairy,.. you know, milk, cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese, anything.. and it sucked for the first month, but after the second month it wasnt bad, but now that he is passed the stage of not holding it in and just letting it come out, i can have dairy... he has learned to grunt, and work on it.. and boy, i am so proud of him, cause mommy was missing her dairy..
