What is the best diaper rash cream?

My 14 monthold has a diaper rash. I was just wondering what everyone uses. I've used the butt-paste..not sure how to spell the brand.........ive used desatin, a and d..and then plain old petroleum jelly. What is the best.. in your opinion?

  • desatin!!! but not the creamy kind, only the original. When my daughter got a REALLY bad diaper rash, I bathed her really well then fanned off her bottom and put desatin on it. I did that for 2/3 days, and it was completely gone. My biggest advice, is make sure the area is COMPLETELY DRY before you put any type of cream on, it will make the world of a difference. If you put it on top of any wetness it will just keep the area wet and sometimes make it worse. I hope this helped, and i really hope the diaper rash goes away quickly.

  • Mom above is right on about making sure it's dry and clean. I use Butt Paste, my doc also recommended A&D. You also need to make sure it isn't a yeast infection, which is commonly mistaken for diaper rash. My dd usually gets a yeast infection more than an actual rash. I thought she had a rash & it turned out to be an infection. I am using a cream right not to prevent her bum from getting sore since she is on med for an ear infection.

  • Paladin!!! Is the best I've found... It's made locally (where I live) and everyone here walmart, target, kroger, etc carries it.

I don't know if you will be able to find it where you are but the company that make it also sells it online. Here's a link:

    http://www.rashcream.com/index.php

I like it because it ACTUALLY WORKS!!! Diaper rash is gone over night if not sooner!!!! And it's made locally so I'm supporting my local economy... and NO I DO NOT work for them :)
