3 Bumps

Which item do you wish you had brought to the hospital?

I'm making a list so that I can start getting prepared for when "it's time". Of course there are lists telling you to bring a camera and baby clothes, but I want to know what you ladies found that you REALLY wanted while pregnant but were never told to bring or forgot.

Let me know!

  • A comfy nightgown. I thought it was much easier than sweats the first few days.
Your own soap, toothbrush, shampoo, makeup, etc.
The blanket you plan on using for the baby and an outfit to bring him/her home.
Something to do.... books, magazines, puzzles, laptop, etc. (I needed them, I couldn't sleep in the hospital!)
They provide just about everything for the baby. You might want to pack a small diaper bag with diapers and wipes just in case you need it on the way home!

  • Ok I have to say this, when I was pregnant with DD I had this weird feeling that I needed to pack clothes for like a week for myself. So I did, and it turned out that I needed it as DD was transfered to 2 different hospitals when she was 12 hrs old. DD ended up in a hospital 3hrs away from home and I once I got there a few hours after her I didn't get to go home with her until 3 week later. So I guess I'm saying if you feel you need something it might be wise to take it with as you just never know. (Maybe pack these I think I may need this but probably not items in a small bag to keep in the car and not in your hospital room cause there sure wasn't alot of room in mine.)

  • comfy jammies to wear after. and maternity clothes to wear home. Also if you have a baby book- bring that, too, so you can fill in things you might have on your mind right away after the baby is born. Congratulations and good luck. Life will never be the same again- in a good way.

  • I don't think they let you use a cell phone in your room, at least you're not supposed to. It can mess with the hospital equipment (like on an airplane!), so be prepared to have a list of numbers and use the hospital phone!
