  • Do you really think there would be bottles with BPA if one use of it would kill your baby? Come on. Google BPA. There are many options out there that are BPA-free.

  • Thank you, but I didn't mean literally "kill". I just hear so many bad things on this site about it....just asking.

  • Well, you didn't need that rude comment and you should report that snide person!!! I heard yesterday on the radio a woman talking about BPA...it's a chemical in plastic and it's in the nipples. She said that women need to know that you shouldn't microwave these on the bottles when your heating it up. And it's said that you should heat things up in new plastic because of the chemical....and if you want to find out more to go google and see if they have anything!! Good luck!!

  • Yes, don't heat the bottles. Many companies are now switching to BPA-free plastics, though. I also thought you meant if the baby used it one time would it kill him. Thanks for clearing it up.

  • So a bottle that isn't BPA free is safe to use as long as it's not heated up?

  • That is correct....you can use the bottle or nipple as long as you don't heat it up in the microwave!!

  • OKay, thanks! I'm only asking because I got some bottles as a gift but the box doesn't say they're BPA free. I could really use some new bottles but I didn't want to use them if they could potentially harm my baby. But I never heat his bottles anyway, so thanks!

  • With BPA bottles you can't even boil them before use, its a cancer causing chemical and is released when the plastic is heated. BTW if you are using formula it has BPA in it anyways so whether or not you use BPA free bottles is kinda pointless. YES both the liquid and powder formula have BPA in the canisters they come in.
