Can stress cause premature labor?

  • its different for alot of people but that is what caused mine with my first i was about 22 weeks

  • yes it is different for everyone. but it has to be extreme and excesive(SP?) for it to have most the time.

  • well with me my 1st child i was always stressed and he came out fine (8lb) and with this pregnancy i am also stressed and it is causing her from growing as she needs to.

  • absolutely! I am a whole hearted believer that it can, I was in premature labor with my son and I had to quit work because of it (my boss had told me that my doctor's note was unexcusable) with my daughter I am trying to stay as stress free as possible

  • To the poster above me, your boss is a douche. lol. and I believe that stress CAN put you into preterm labor. Jeez stress can make hair fall out, weight gain or loss, headaches, so I think it could cause preterm labor as well.
