What do you do in the middle of the night when you crave something that is not in the house?

I am all ready for bed, it is literally freezing outside and I thought I had olives and after reading through the Q&A about bad pregnancy advice, I NEED some olives.

What do you do? Do you go out and get what you crave? Do you try something else? Just wondering.

  • Well, I have 2 toddlers and my dh works nights, so I just try to drink a glass of water to make the craving pass, or think about some other food that I do have and after a few minutes I usually start craving that, lol.

  • I know the feeling oh so well. If it's not in the house, I try to find something that will hold me over until I can get it. That is the worse thing, to crave something and can't get it. I am from Illinois and wanted an "Italian Beef" sandwich my entire, first pregnancy. I live in DC so there was no way I could get it. There were times that I would cry because the craving was so strong. My DH tried to cook beef and make the sandwich being from Philly but it was no comparison. I loved him more for the effort and cried later...those cravings...
