  • The financial aid office of the college to which you want to attend has information about scholarships, grants, and loans.

  • If you go to your local library, there are books on scholarships. Do not pay for any book that says they will help you find money or any service. If you are a first generation student, pell grant will pay that is if qualify financially. there are also womens services on most colleges, even the small community colleges, to help point you in the right direction. I would also call your united way(locally) they could point you in the right organizations as well. If you do apply for loans make sure you get enough to cover only your expenses, because you don't want to have alot of debt once you stop going. I know that is a mistake I made, and even though I was working, I should have only borrowed what it cost for college.
