Some of my photos are damaged...can I still use them?

  • I would try to scan them now before they are damaged any further, you can use a free program like Picasa from google to crop them, change the coloring, lighting. You can purchase other programs that have a restore old photo option.You can then reprint them for your scrapbooking projects.
    A lot of photo places can do all this for you too and back up the digitals to a CD so you can reprint them when you'd like to
    You could just always use those photos but I wouldn't risk losing the memories. Once you start handling them, gluing them.. it may make it worse

  • You can get copies made and retouched. There is an acid reducing spray you can find at craft stores too. You would want to use acid free lignen free scrapbooking supplies to prolong the life of your photos.

  • If the pictures are really special to you, go to a photolab and they will repair any issues with your old photos, but it can be expensive, so only do that for special photos.

  • And have copies made and scrapbook the copies. You should also invest in an acid and lenign (sp?) free photo album and transfer the photos to it.
