Is it normal that my baby has no hair?

It just occurred to me that my daughter is 4 months old and has no hair!! She has little stubbles, and a little patch of long hair in the back bottom of her head (kind of like the bald mad professor!). Is this normal? Shouldn't girls start growing hair soon?

  • She's fine. It'll come in. My son needed a haircut the day he was born and my daughter was bald until she hit about 10 months.

  • Nope, one of my little girls was bald till after her first birthday. All babies are different, and lighter hair comes in later than darker hair.

  • Both of my kids barely had any hair, it took soooo long for my daughter to finally have long hair!

  • my daughter is almost 3 and she still has pretty short hair.
so far she's only gotten 1 haircut and that was just her bangs because they kept getting in her eyes.

  • My first baby wwas born with hair. I could put it up at 2 months. My second baby had just enough to cover her head, it did not grow out until about her first birthday.

  • Every baby is different. My oldest was bald for months. My son had no hair and his sister has a ton of hair and had to get a haircut at 5 months. We joke that she stole his hair in the womb:)

  • My daughter was born with a head full of dark hair that promptly fell out. She is now 10 1/2 months and still looks mostly bald because the new hair is blonde. I was the same way. You never know, maybe it is genetic but it will grow someday.
