  • I don't know if it is a federal or state program but here in iowa we have block grant. I think you have to be pretty low income to get it. you also have to be working or going to school during the time they are at preschool. There are also head start programs for "at risk kids" (low income, minority, disabled) We also have a lot of schools starting public preschool for 4 year olds. I guess I'm not sure who you call to find out about block grant.

  • If she's 4 by a certain date, you should be able to enroll her in public school Pre-K. Here in NY, I think they can enroll if they're 4 by December. In LA they had to be 4 by September. Check with your local school district.

  • My goodness, the simple act of being born has obligated her to 13 years of school, hopefully 17-21 years if she goes to college. Why not let her enjoy 1 more year at home being your little girl?

  • call whatever school district you are in and have her evaluated. depending on where you live if you show an interest or if she is in anyway disabled or behind, etc. they legally have to find a state run center for her. they are typically the best. also, headstart is AMAZING.

  • How about getting a job that with allow you to pay for her to go to preschool. The FBI is hiring and so is GSA along with a bunch of other great agencies.

  • Depending on what state you are in, is what kind of programs they have available. In FL, if your child is 4 they can go to pre-K for free, all you have to do is sign them up with the state. I know there are other states that do this too, you need to find out what is available where you are.
