Is it normal to feel pain from the baby kicking?

this is my first time, so i'm not sure what to expect, i have and know what a baby moving feels like, i just felt the baby moving along low in my abdomen and it hit something in there, that sent a shooting pain all over me, just for a second. anyone wanna help me out?! should i be concerned?

  • My little one used to have his feet pointed right at my pubic bone before he turned around. I would get some really sharp pains if he'd kick me. Now he's head down and likes to kick my ribs.

  • i myself don't think that you have n e thing to worry about. i went through the same thing. when i was about 7 mths it got worse so i asked the dr. about it and it said it was my muscles contracting to prepare for labor

  • It could be sciatic pain, caused by your growing bump. It feels almost like a stabbing pain, but mostly on the bottom of your belly, because that is where the weight of the baby is stretching the skin and muscles the most... Generally the baby's movements don't start to be really painful until the very end when he/she has nowhere to move.

  • A baby kick feels like someone punching you from the inside out. Usually without the pain. BUT if they kick you in your ribs it hurts like hell. It could be that or it could be kicking something else that is hitting a nerve.
