How does your family decorate the Christmas tree?

My favorite is the traditional green tree with clear lights, colored glass ornaments, garland, tensel, an angel at the top and of course, lots of presents at the bottom!

  • Our family is very traditional. We have a green tree, with clear lights, family ornaments and a star at the top. When we first got the tree, I couldn't find an angel I liked, but I found a star that was awesome.

  • Green tree, white lights, star on top, and ornaments. We don't do garland or tinsel. It's too messy and since I'm a perfectionaist, I can hever get the garland on the right way, lol.

  • Green tree, white lights. I like to have a different theme for my tree every year, but it just wasn't in the budget this year so we have the same ones as last year. Burgundy and gold balls, burgundy bead garland and gold ribbons. The kids have their own 3 ft tree that has their collected ornaments on it...they get a new ornament each year.

  • Also very traditional... Clear white lights, red glass balls and a star on top... Since in my house it acts as a Christmas tree and a Yule tree we only use decotations and colors that work for both.

  • Real tree, a mixture of white and colored lights (put on first so they go all the way from the center of the tree to the outside tips), then ornaments. Most of my ornaments, we've made ourselves.

That's a slide show of some of them, if you're curious :)

After ornaments, I add bows made from various ribbons, and this gorgeous garliand of glass beads I found one year at Michael's. No tinsel, too much hassle to clean up! And an angel at the top that is holding candles that are actually tiny lights.
