  • Yes, some home pregnancy tests can be thrown off so easily.

  • no I believe you can get a false negative and be pregnant but not a false positive. It must be detecting some HCG hormone but maybe its just early.

  • I was told from Professionals and the makers of Pregnancy Tests that.... you can always get a False Negative but NEVER a False Positive. I went through this myself and contacted alot of people, they said If you had a test that was Positive one moment, then turn around and not pregnant anymore - you had a Miscarriage without knowing.

  • Yes, it was a blood test done at the doctor's office 8 weeks after I had my first baby. (I was in the office for something else unrelated.) It was detecting the hormones left over from the previous pregnancy.

  • Yes you can!! If you don't take the test right. I bf my second baby and around the 4 month mark I decided to start taking HPT to make sure I was pregnant because I still hadn't had my period. It came back positive one just one test everything else was fast including the doctor's. I was told I probably peed to much on it.

It's rare to have a false positive but it can happen.

  • step mom got a test from the dollar store when I was in high school because I came home sick. Two out of three of them were positive. I went and had a blood test done and they told me that I wasn't pregnant. I had also had no signs of a miscarriage either.

  • Yeah, I had a miscarriage a month earlier. I took a test because we were trying again. It was too soon for me to be taking a test but I wanted to anyways. It was positive. Went to the dr and he did a test but it was neg. It was hormones left over from the earlier pregnancy....dr said that was odd
