  • Walking helps bring the baby down into your pelvis.
Sex can help soften your cervix (semen acts as a progesterone)
Evening primerose oil does the same. You can take it orally and insert it.
Nipple stimulation can bring on contractions
A friend swears eggplant parm. brought on her labor, I don't know if there is much to that.

  • You really should wait another week. that is just at the beginning of "term" but
all of what beckcorc said will help except the eggplant thing not to sure about that one. Sex made my water brake at 34 weeks.

  • Try it laying on your side with him behind you. And ask him to go gentle and not too far in.

  • You can try all of those, but if your baby isn't ready to be born, then it won't happen. If it is your first it is completely normal to go to 40 weeks or more.

  • Eat tons of Pineapple and Papaya (fresh only-- as canned will take out the enzymes you need to "ripen" your cervix. Foods like eggplant parm, pizza etc usually contain basil and oregano-- both known to help get contractions going. DO NOT DO Castor oil-- it will make you sick and cause the babe to have a bowel movement- which would be bad news.

  • Accupuncture and accupressure both help. Walking, sex, and moving around on an exersize ball.
There was also a woman on here who said her natural ob told her to drink Sassafras tea (www.sassafrastea.com) This is the only one that does not contain safrole oil (it has been taken out) So it is safe. She said that it put her into labor with all three of her kids. She said that you drink in all day and then 3 days labor it will put you into labor. I bought some and plan on doing that with the rest of these things at the end of December/early Jan to put myself into labor at 37.4 weeks-- in order to avoid a c section.
