What should I make for Christmas dinner?

I don't want to bake another Turkey I like turkey once in awhile.
What do you girls make for a X-mas dinner, I am open for ideas.
My MIL makes Tamales and Menudo (can you tell I am hispanic...lol) anyway she makes all these mexican dishes (that is why us mexican people are alittle over weight...lol) I'd love to make something different. Let me know Thanks in advance

  • Yeah I am with you. Turkey leftovers finally gone. THen we had lasagne for a week. I usually do a lasagna, but I am turkeyd and lasagned out. I will do a ham, and some steamed shrimp. I like the idea of beef tenderloin too. The dinner will be simpler than the Thanksgiving. My in-laws fix pork and sourkraut for Christmas eve, and my mom usually does dinner. But this year it's me, and I have a huge family, and a party the next day to do. I wanna keep it simple. ham, shrimp, and beef sounds good and easy-ish. I am usually exhausted by the afternoon on christmas day. no small wonder...

  • I've hosted my in-laws for the past two years and I've made beef tenderloin. This year I may do pork tenderloin because we have this kick a$$ marinade that makes it sooooo good. Plus I don't want to spend the money for the beef tenderloin and the pork is way cheaper :)

  • We have xmas eve dinner at our house and we're doing a taco bar. We decided we didn't want turkey again and didn't want to make a huge dinner with lots to cook.

  • Depending on your budget, you could to a crown roast of pork (much easier than it looks!) or a standing rib roast, ham, or cornish game hens.

I made a fresh ham one Christmas, which is really not like ham at all, more like a really good pork roast. Usually, I will make either a turkey breast or cornish hens, and a standing rib roast.

  • I do standing rib (beef) and ham for Christmas Dinner. We may eat tacos, meatloaf and spaghetti etc. the rest of the year, but once a year I believe we deserve to splurge and have the best! I always make traditional sides, like mashed potatoes & gravy, broccoli and cheese sauce, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, homemade dinner rolls, Jello, and like ten desserts. Once a year I go all out, and our family loves all the company and family getting together for this event.
