  • Peircings around 16, probably. Tatoos, never. A tatoo is for life and I'm so glad my parents didn't let me run out and get any when I was a little goth freak! lol, who knows what crazy stuff i would be sporting these days. Peircings can always be taken out and leave small scars if any, so i'd probably allow them to express themselves in this way, within reason though. No multiples eyebrows, twelve lip rings, etc. Just one or the other. I've had my eyebrow done twice. Once on my 18th b-day. Got tired of it and took it out. Then on my 25th birthday, eventually got tired of it and took it out again. I love that it can go away when its welcome is worn out. I like tatoos, but have never found ANYTHING that i want on my body for life.

  • Ears, yes. tattoo, no. They need to be 18 for that and make their own stupid decision w/o my go-ahead. haha! I think for their piercings though, maybe a belly button or nose if their like 16 or 17. I'd just want it to be tasteful and not leave a scar they'd regret later.

  • ...and btw, I've had my ears pierced all over (like 5 in each ear when I was 15 or 16), and I had the freedom to dye my hair whatever color in hs. But I didn't get my belly pierced until I was 18, and my tattoo until I was 19. I love my tattoo, but hate the belly button scar I now have. I think I had a lot of freedom as a teen and had no complaints, but would use the same rules for my kids, hair and ears are fine, anything else needs to be discussed with me first.

  • NEVER, i made the mistakes of tattoos at young age and im talking about around 23. teenagers have no clue what they like enough to tattoo something on it. Peircing the ears is fine. i'd even consider a belly button peircing. nothing on the face though

  • not a tattoo unless they've wanted it for 5 or more years, if they still like it after that then yes.
I plan to let them pierce whatever they want

  • I went with each of my sons on their 18th birthday to get a tatoo. Yes I have numerous tats. I told them the same thing I tell anyone else. Never have something tatooed on your body you would be ashamed to show your Mom or your Grandmother.

  • i would allow whatever piercings they wanted within reason....like i couldnt let the gauge their ears or have that middle part of their nose pierced because i cant stand that!....i would be okay with any piercings in the ears, nose (see exception), lips, or belly button. i would only let them get a tattoo if it was tasteful and something i knew would continue to be dear to them for life...say if they gave birth to a child or had a close friend or relative die
