  • Thats normal. The last trimester, the weight gain slows down. I gained 35 pounds with my daughter and 45 pounds with my son. Your doing fine!

  • Everyone gains different amounts. I gained 41 lbs. with my son. As long as you are eating healthy and not overeating on lots of sweets and junkfood you will be fine!

  • It really depends on whats normal for you. If you are underweight when you get pregnant, some Drs. will tell you gain more weight then "normal" and if you are over weight, they usually recommend trying to keep weight gain at a minimum.

  • You sound like me. I gained 55 total with the first and 65 with the second pregnancy.

"They" say to average about 25-35 pounds, but this doesn't take into consideration personal accounts. Some women are rec'd to gain more, others less... And either way that number is the average. Most moms can easily go outside that suggested range with no concerns.

Eat really well, choose for baby first, hydration second, cravings last. A little walking, yoga, water will help you to feel good and facilitate an easier labor & postpartum recovery.

But don't push yourself too hard. It's nice to put baby in a sling or stroller after and walk a little for fresh air, exercise, and getting a change of scene. Just be sure you're doing your best AND enjoying this time!! :-D

  • I gained 47...and I was close to where you are with 12 weeks to go. They say 25-35 if you are a normal weight...15-25 if you are overweight. Tho, the doctor said 40lbs is generally the average.Talk to your doctor, if you are concerned...but it doesn't sound like it's a horrible weight gain. I have had friends gain close to 100 lbs! Ouch! lol

  • I would talk to your doctor about it. It is a little higher, especially since you still have 3 more months. One thing that usually sneaks up on people as a "good" choice is JUICE! It's healthy, sort of, but it's stock full of carbs and can have you gaining weight easily. You can cut down on that and try to eat the actual fruit instead of the juice. Up your water intake. Don't restrict your diet or anything, just try and cut out most of the junk food (although a can of coke every once in a while isn't going to hurt anything).

  • i was underweight @ 120lbs when i got pregnant and i ended up gaining 70lbs up to delivery.
I lost 45lbs when he was born because he was a big baby, lots of fluids and maternal blood volume, but i had 30lbs to lose after pregnancy. I am still struggling to lose the last 10.

I would say you're perfectly fine at 40lbs and having 12 weeks to go.
Dont stress about it and just make sure that you're eating right whenever you need to.
