so , my DS has been on ditropan for his bedwetting for a little over 2 months now, and we have had ZERO success. so we are going for a follow up with his urologist tomorrow. i am hoping that there is something else we can do. last night, he leaked thru his "goodnight"...and the night before, he forgot to put one on (he's 10, btw, and he's been a NIGHTLY bedwetter since forever...)...so 2 days in a row i'm washing bedding. on top of that and the stress of the situation...his room has taken on the stench of piss...in our new home...i febreze the matress at each linen change(and i do use a vinyl cover as well), the carpet the curtains...i just cant get it out! it's like it's soaked into the damn walls...its awful. i want him to be rid of this problem, not only for himself, because he suffers emotionally from it, and his confidence could definitely use a boost....but i am just TIRED of this...

you poor thing.  i'm so sorry.  here i am complaining and my son is only 5.

i know what you mean about the odor.  it's awful.  try white vinegar for the smell.  there's a product for pet urine odors @ Walmart - it's supposed to be wonderful.  i haven't tried it yet.

good luck @ your appointment.  let us know how it goes.

Oh ya this stuff is great it does wonders. It's not cheap but it lasts a long time. My 7 year old still has accidents here and there. And we always keep a bottle of this on hand. I hope every thing goes well at you'r appt.

Here is hugs for you mama hugs

Sorry you have this struggle.  I agree about the vinegar for clean up.

My fiends son was about 11 when he finally stayed dry at nights.  My 11 year old son wets a little, but usually catches himself and gets up.

Good luck at the Dr.'s. Hopefully they can help.

i was at target a while ago and was looking for something to treat our carpet with. this lady was in the aisle too and we started chatting. she owns her own housekeeping business and told me she uses this product called kids n pets on a house that has a diabetic son who wets the bed all the time. she said it works because the family calls her about every month or so saying the smell is back and they want to know her product. she said she wont tell them, of course, keep the business. but she said it was awesome and works. so i bought some...tried it. took a while but it finally did help. we just moved to a new apt and the carpet was awful and it smelled like something died under it. so i have been treating it like crazy on the stains...then one day i just noticed hey it doesnt smell like dead bunny when you walk in the door. give it a try.  you can use it on all kinds of things not just carpet too.  laundry, furniture, etc

We'll hopefully the urologist will find something, that can be treated.  Then you both can get the rest you deserve.  I'll be sending prayers your way.

*HUGS* I hope the doctor has something to help you guys! I agree with the pp though about the vinegar idea, I love to use vinegar to clean with, the smell is kinda strong at first but it goes away once dry!
