My 12, 10, and 9 year old all still wet the bed. It's extremely frustrating because I feel they are way too old but I know that they will eventually outgrow it. Im sure it's hereditary though because my husband wet the bed until he was 17 and his 2 younger brothers both wet the bed until they were 13 and 14. Especially it was embarrassing for him because when his younger brothers stopped he was still wetting the bed. :( I assumed when my 7 year old got out of diapers he would be the same as his older brothers but he wasn't. How old were your kids when they stopped? or How old are they now if they are still wetting the bed? Thanks!
I have heard it's hereditary. My 12 year old still wets the bed. I finally took him to a urologist who didn't help much but confirm there is nothing wrong with bladder or kidneys. She told me to take him to a GI specialist since he's having problems with BM too. And she told him he has to use the bathroom every 3 hours regardless if he has to go. We'll see how things pan out.
A friend of mine told me her family used a chiropractor for bedwetting. I tried it on my 7 year old and after 3 months of 3 times a week, she no longer wets the bed and is free to go to sleepovers and have them too without embarrassment! My dr also told me she would grow out of it.
