Just wondering if any mom may have also had bedwetting troubles as a kid, and how did it make you feel?

OK, so I'll start this one off. Yes, I was a bed-wetter as a child. I cam remember feeling lonely and ashamed. I know that I felt left out because I couldn't or should I say wouldn't go to sleepovers for fear I would wet. Even after I quit wetting I was afraid of staying overnight anywhere.
I was a deep sleeper but I only remember doing it once or twice (like if I was having a dream or something). My mom has never said anything about me being like that. My MIL on the other hand has frequently talked about my husband having a problem with it, regularly as a child and our DD happens to be a LOT like him. Of course he denies it and doesn't remember as well as his poor mother who likely had to clean it up every day.

Why is it that even as adults, we don't like to admit to being a bed wetter. I know that I had all I could do to admit to it. I guess that even to this day, I still feel ashamed of it even after knowing all the facts and such. Is there others out there that still feel this way too?
I would imagine that most of us have had an accident or 2 as a child....it just happens, all of a sudden, you're dreaming that you're swimming or something and you wake up to realize that that wasn't the type of pool you had in mind!!!
But, there wasn't any sort of repetitive issue or anything, just a once in a while type of thing.
I wasn't but I know that my dad and my grandfather (on the other side) both were. My grandfather said he wet the bed until he was nearly 14 and it was very embarrasing for him. And my dad had the same problems until he was 11. I am hoping my little guy won't have problems for that long!
Yep, I had issues until I was 12 or 13. My close friends knew, so they didn't make a big deal out of it, but it made it hard to want to go to other friends' houses.
As far as my parents, well, they never shamed me or anything. I just wish we'd known back then that it was NORMAL, and that there were also multiple techniques we could have employed to try to help.
