Do you check the sex offender registry ever? How often? What do you do with the information when you check?

here is the link to one of the national ones:

Yes I check it monthly. I'm also on the list that if one moves into my area, I get an automated e-mail.

yes i get an automated email too, if one moves out and away and one moves in and around.

i show the kids before school starts and again at the end of the school year when summer is starting and i always also remind them to always be alert bc there are plenty of chances of other people who can offend either sexually or some other way that aren't on the list too.

I have checked the registry through the PA state police just to see if there is anyone in our immediate area. I haven't check in  a while though.

we only have a small scattering of them over a 7 mile radius that are registered here. ...

but yet another thing that bothers us about 16 1/2 yr old living with bio in the ormond beach/daytona area of florida is there are a shockingly huge number of them and there is even a LOT within a mile from the house and one right on the same street for that matter.

we use to get sooo mad when she was younger and visited bc in FLORIDA BIO  didnt turn the air conditioning on and amanda would get heat sick light headed and feel sick to her stomache and so bio would LEAVE HER FIRST FLOOR BEDROOM WINDOW OPEN ALL NIGHT even though we sent her the pages and pages of lsted predators and sex offenders surrounding her including on her own street,

she wouldnt listen to us either, so we bought our daughter window alarms to put on her windows there while she was visiting,  grrrrrr.

Where we used to live once a month the local newspaper would print a special edition on sex offenders. It gave their home address, work address, pictures and what they were accused of.

needless to say we used to go to this one gas station~ until the day clerks picture made the paper. That Shell station lost so much business that it almost closed down. the day clerk had been arrested 25 times for sex with little girls, had kiddy porn on his computer and was caught trying to follow a little girl into the bathroom with an undercover officer there getting gas in his personal vehicle.

A month after we moved here, they let a sex offender move in here! We could not say anything but when the landlords came to do repairs, I left the guys picture up on my computer and the next week the guy was gone. He was not allowed to live in an apartment complex where their were kids.

I think its crazy that if we see them on the site we can't say a word to anyone but if the site is up and someone see's it I can still get in trouble. I just say I was checking the site and I can't help who else in my apartment can see it. hehehehehe
