Ok, little back story here.  A couple kids that went to high school where oldest DD goes now lost both of their parents within a few years of each other.  The Dad was the 1st to die with cancer a few years ago, the Mom died suddenly a couple years ago. From what, I don't know, but it was suspected to be overdose of pills.  The Mom went into deep depression after the Dad died and turned into an alcoholic.  She was no longer able to even teach because her life was so messed up. She had actually started to get her life straightened up a few months before she died.  Anyway, it's a tragic story and those 2 kids went through a lot in those years.

Fast forward to now.  The son graduated from Ohio University with a degree in instrumental and vocal music and the daughter is in college to become a veterinarian.  The son got a wonderful job as a choir specialist and instrumental director at a school here in Ohio and is in his very 1st year of teaching!   He posted on FaceBook on Sunday how his choir got a 1 at the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA) adjudicated competition and that the 1 judge even made the comment on his sheet that his choir was one of the top choirs that he had ever heard in his judging career.  What an honor indeed!!!  He truly has a musical gift that he has passed onto his students!  I wish more people had his kind of passion.

Here's where the "UGH" part comes in.  So many people commented on his FB status about how proud his parents would be of him.  He had commented that they were looking down from Heaven on him and he felt their presence on that day.  Some IDIOT posted that his parents were not in Heaven but in Hell instead because his Dad had the Devil's Cancer and his Mom had become an alcoholic and committed suicide, which are automatic tickets to hell.  WTF?!?!  I just do not understand why people feel the need to say such things to somebody at all but especially at such a wonderful time in his life when he should be praised for his efforts in teaching those students!  I don't understand why people feel the need to push such negativity onto others!!!   Needless to say, there was a lot of negative comments towards that person and he ended up deleting the comment.  I hope he deleted the person from his friends list also.  Its just ridiculous.

i would NOT have said that...but even though i'm catholic-my dad died a month ago 12/27/10 from cancer. i believe he's just gone. i don't believe he's "watching over me" or "here with me"...i also don't believe he's "an angel" because only SAINTS can be angels....

no matter what religion anyone is, those kids went on to fulfill their dreams. Their parents would have been proud ( i think personally ), death does amazing things to people, i just wish some people could have grace and manners when it comes to things like that. Makes you wonder what would happen if that were your family..  i would be devastated if someone said that about me..

Horrible ,horrible.I can't even imagine why people need to do this .What is even the point.Thoughtless ,cruel ,horrid people that must be very unhappy and want to spread their unhappiness to anyone feeling some joy.

Such strong kids.

We recently had a coach in our area killed by an angry dad that thought the 33 y/o coach was with his 50 y/o wife. The dad had two D.V. convictions. Some of the comments on the news article toward the coach and the teens of the dad were nauseating.SMH
