Your teenage daughter date an older MAN?

I'm not talking 18, I'm talking 15, 16, 17 year old daughter date a man that was over 20 years old?

If you say NO what would you do?

Oh, hell no.  I wouldn't allow my 20 yo to date and older man but she wouldn't want one anyway because I have taught them right.  My 20 yo's boyfriend is 18 months older than her.  That is about as old as she has ever dated.  Heck, dh is 13 months younger than me.

I wouldn't allow a 15 yo to date anyone of any age.  No dating until at least 16.  Mine didn't get boyfriends until later junior year or senior year anyway.

No, I wouldn't and I'd really question why someone that age would want to date a much younger girl.  The age difference wouldn't be a big deal if they were both adults but that's not the case and I'd be worried that there would be control issues and pressure to be sexual.  We had a rule when our daughter started high school that she could only date someone in her grade or the grade above.  She accepted it and it's never been an issue.

No I would not. She can date someone her age or close to it (a year older or younger).

You wouldn't charge him with statutory rape?

I've known some people that have threatened statutory rape unless they marry their daughter. Why would parents do this?
