itchy arm pits?   This is a new one on me.  I thought perhaps it was a new deodorant we bought her, but she stopped using it and she said they still itch.  Any idea? Thank you  Oh and she's onlly 11 and doesn't have any hair there yet.  Maybe that's it? If the hair is starting to grow would that cause it to be itchy?

Hair starting to grow can cause itchiness. That's probably what it is

dehydration maybe. winter does that to you. the dry air dehydrates your skin. I would tell her to start using an oil free moisturizer under her arms when she gets out of the shower. Let it air dry, then put the deoderant on. See if that works.

Thanks for the ideas.

I get itchy armpits sometimes too, but I think it's from irritation caused by shaving them every day. She might just have dry skin. My kids get terribly dry, itchy skin in the winter.

I could be from hair starting to grow. I itch sometimes if I have dry skin.

Another idea is to put some conditioner under her arms why she is showering.  I do that after i shave, it helps prevent dryness.

I think it may be hair starting to grow there. I get itchy armpits from certain deodorants.

My DD gets that esp when her volleyball jersey rubs against her. She uses powder before deodorant and it seems to help.
