 It was a number you called and it sounded like a busy signal and you would yell hey boy whats your # and the guys would yell hey girl whats your # then one of you would yell your # back and then the other would call if they wanted to talk.

LOL, there was a song called Hotline.  I heard it on the 70's channel several times lately!!!  "Calling on the Hotline, for your love, for your love"
