I'm so glad it finally cooled off here. I love being able to open the windows again instead of running the AC.

My son went to the local amusement park today with some friends, and he finally went on the rides that he found too scary before. I'm so proud of him overcoming that fear!!!

I made up a new recipe today that my family loved and I feel thrifty because it kept me from wasting bread and tomatoes.I used a bunch of tomatoes that were going softish...I despise soft tomatoes LOL.

We also watched an amazing storm ...just a few hours...roll in from the gulf.It was easy to tell there was lightening in it so my teens quit surfing and we came up to the house. We sat on the porch till it hit us.It was beautiful and a little frightening at the same time.I love brief beach storms. So do my teens ...churns the water and better waves.

LOL we have different August definitions of cooler .At our home low 90's is considered cooler ,at our beach house mid 80's are considered cooler.Only 50 miles apart but the wind of the water keeps it cooler in the summer and warmer in winter.

Our A.C.'s here are getting their worst workout of the year.Aug and the first half of Sept are our hottest months of the year.

Way to go !!! Good job.

I'm 54 and some rides still bother me. : (

My 14 y.o. did this also earlier this summer. He still isn't crazy about them like his brothers are but he isn't afraid anymore.

Sounds like a beautiful day. I love storms as long as I'm at home. They are beautiful to watch as long as you aren't suck in them.

Definitely probably have different definitions. A lot of people here don't have central AC, but we do. We had a high of 82 today, which is more normal for August here. This summer has been hotter than normal. I think we had like 20-something days over 90, and normally we only have a day or two that hot.

But you probably don't have the freezing winters like we do!! For most places, there's always a trade-off.

We are in the midst of our first heat wave this summer!   It hit 100 yesterday.    I have A/C.....and it is on!  But, I spent the day at my Dad's house, as usual...and he is always cold (stage 4 cancer- hospice)....so we can't turn the A/C on.   Ugh!   I was sweltering!
