Thoughts about teenage drinking. It scares me to no end of what can happen to them. Am I the cool mom who turns the other way or am I the witch who keeps them from having fun?
Going out and partying, the possibility of drunk driving..no!
The other part of this is that I am worried about their "social game". My daughter wanted to go to a party and then stay the night at another friends house. I was O.K. with her going to the party but not staying at the friends house. Seemed kind of fishy. She blew up at me which made me wonder even more.
That is a great start them legal stuff my kids under age drinking is not as important as their well being or my getting into trouble cause I want be cool!! That boat sailed long ago when the stick went positive... now I am a parent which in its meaning is some one that guides and out lines the right and wrong ways in which to conduct our selves.. so if dear old mom is to busy being cool then she not doing her real job which is setting a good examples...
So no way am I going to condone drinking they have their adult lives for that stuff n that will affect them only not me.. and no one will look at me saying what kind of parent are you!!
Agree! Validating partying for minors is not a good idea. And we have to lead by example, using alcohol responsibly, moderately, and appropriately. The do as I say and not as I do tactic never works with teens.

I will not buy my kid a drink until its legal and maybe not even then. It sends the WRONG message if you condone it in your home. And other people's kids no way.
