Breakups at a Valentine Dance

I showed up at my daughter's 7th grade formal dance and saw at least a dozen girls with tears and puffy faces.  I asked my daughter about it and she told me it was because alot of the boys choose that dance to break up with them.

Why even ask them to go if you're breaking up with them?  Isn't that beyond mean?

Glad mine went solo

That is so sad that the boys would choose that time to break up with the girls

Odd, and mean. Most boys do it right before the holidays so they don't have to buy a gift.

1 mom liked this

kids are brutal these days. i believe early access to the internet and social media desensitizes a lot of them.

Typical. My dd's friend was briefly dating a guy and he dumped her at the prom. Even my dh had dated a girl 8 months and at prom she mentioned she thought they should break up. Good for me, I guess because we started dating about 6 weeks later. That being said having a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship that young is dumb also.

Maybe if the girls would remember how cold these guys are and nobody else would date them they would get a clue

Yep, mean. Kids are cruel to each other. Sounds like someone got a great idea to all break up at once.

It is 7th grade...the boys probably planned the whole charade and called it the Valentines Day Massacre.
