I wear glasses.

I've tried contacts a couple of different times through the years and just can't seem to get used to wearing them.

Thick, heavy coke-bottle-bottom glasses.  I used to wear contacts but my eyes got terribly bad and I could no longer tolerate them.  At times my glasses are so heavy they have created pressure sores on my nose and cheeks and I've had to change styles to get relief.  My sight is so bad even with glasses that I cannot legally drive - but I'm not blind enough to get any kind of social services to help.  It's frustrating but it is what it is.

Fortunately my kids inherited their Dad's good sight and don't need glasses or contacts at this stage although they may when they are older (he is slightly short-sighted and got his first pair of glasses as an adult).
