This article came from my local KJZZ (NPR station) I am wondering what other moms think of this? Were the police in the wrong, and assisted with this girls suiside, or did they just not have the evidence they needed? I personally wish there was a follow up story to answer my questions I am left with.

That is a very sad story. It didn't really seem to contain enough information on whether the police had enough evidence or not to take more action.

I agree, it isn't clear from that article if there was enough evidence. I think it's going too far to say the police assisted in her suicide. They can't wrongly accuse someone of a crime. If the evidence isn't there, there's nothing they can do.
