I know, I know I'm biased but I have a GREAT senior son.  Straight A student, dual varsity athlete, leadership......here's the thing.  His girlfriend is just as nice and the crowd they are going to prom with and after prom all super kids.  As excited as I am for him to have prom, I have to say I am nervous.  He's not doing the limo because "I don't drink or do drugs so I don't need to be in a car with people who do", but, I am afraid some other fool will hurt him by drinking, or drugging, or who knows?  Stupid, I guess.  Nothing to be done about it, I know.

So, how are you other Moms handling prom?

Praying a lot.  There will be no driving, and they will be pretty closely supervised...so

Our rules were (when we thought DD *was* going) No drinking, You stay with someone at all times, and there was to be *no* after prom parties or sleepovers because we wanted to see her before she had a chance to hide drinking or drugs - and we didn't want her to feel pressured to commit the cliche "losing virginity after prom"

I was never nervous. After proms were here with bags and purses checked. No issues. Guys left at 2am. Didn't get here till after midnight.

Prom here is June 8, which also happens to be my birthday.

I'm not all that worried - lots of kids drink and use drugs anyway without the need for prom.  My daughter (youngest of 4) is graduating this year, but I've been through it before.  The evening is very carefully planned, and doesn't involve much driving.

I didn't get nervous, I was more excited for them.  My oldest son was a little nervous with his Junior Prom, not at all for the Senior Prom.

It'll be fun, relax momma.  ((hugs))
