Would you allow your teen to drop out of high school?

It has never been a subject we've had to worry about, my son graduated last year, daughter graduates in a couple weeks.  If it had come up we would probably considered why and what their options would have been

I've never spanked my kids.  My son is now 16 and do to having to repeat a grade he's still a freshman in HS. this worries me becuase he'll turn 18 before he graduates.  He made a comment recently about how he could legally drop out now with my permission and junior year without it.  He hit a worry spot with me and i threatend to beat his ass where he stood if he ever thought about dropping out.  then i apologised and told him i would never beat his ass but he drops out, he moves out.

No I wouldn't... I would try to get to the bottom of the reason they want to drop out and get them help...
