June 16th: National Fudge Day

History Of Fudge

Fudge is thought to have been first created in the US in the late 1800’s so it is a fairly new invention. The first documented fudge recipes come from two female college students in New York during 1888. The girls would make batches of fudge and sell them 40 cents a pound. The first recipes for fudge were very complex and precise. Today the majority of fudge recipes are simple enough for novice cooks to obtain perfect results.

Do you like fudge? How often do you make it?

I like it but in very small amounts, it's way too rich and sweet for my taste. I have never made fudge.

Love chocolate fudge but don't buy or make it because I will then eat it all.  "Hello, my name is Lisa and yes I am a chocoholic."

I like it, but have made it only once. It was probably the recipe I used, but it wasn't as good as I was hoping.
