How would you answer?

My son who is two months shy of 13 has a close and open relationship with me.

About three weeks ago, he asked me to order a fake pussy from a sex toy site.  What he selected is.a realistic molding of a vulva with dark pink inner labia...just the ticket for any young horndog.  I love him to bits and hate to deny him anything.  I told him the quick answer is no but if he let me think it over I ask that he think it over too and tell me the reasons against.  (I mitigate consequences if my dear boy "gets it" when there is an issue of poor judgment to be resolved.)

He and I reached a settlement.  There is no father; I am married to a woman...so it was my call.

How would you have responded and what would be your reasoning?

I'll tell you my decision after a few replies are offered.

That is for adults, not children. He knows too much. Where is he learning this?

I am dreading my son hitting puberty!

We are pretty open around here, but I think asking for sex toys would be over the top. Honestly I'm open withy kids, but I think that's a boundary I wouldn't cross. I actually think that could border sexual abuse, I think it would be along the lines of buying your kid porn or watching it with them. The whole idea is creeping me out, sorry.

My son has been masturbating for almost a year now.  He learned about it in sex-ed books that I provided.

One of his friends showed him his mother's vibrator.  He told his friend that he would never invade his mother's drawers and then asked me what I thought.  He then googled sex toys and he saw what he saw

So what would your answer be to your son?

So how would you answer your son?

I don't mind admitting that I swallowed hard, myself.

It would be no. He'll have to smuggle dirty magazines, sneak porn, hide lotion and Kleenex like all of the other boys in America. And hope I don't find them, as I will squeal and want to have "the talk" repeatedly. Reminds me of American Pie...

Sounds like he is growing up to fast and needs to slow down

He is growing at the rate he is growing.  His eleven y/o friend is showing off his mother's vibrator.  So far, my son is making good choices for a 12 y/o but this is growing me up a bit faster than makes me comfortable.LOL

That would've been a straight out NO for me- and the friend would no longer be a friend, and I would tell the parent why.

IMO, your son is not too advanced for nearly 13.  I have a son the exact same age and he is every bit a grown man in every way except mentally.  He is well into puberty to put it mildly.  I am every open and honest with my son and so is his father. My son has always had his own box of tissues and a small garbage can in his room, so that is nothing for him to hide.  I don't think that I'd be comfortable ordering a pocket pussy for my son though.  Just like I wouldn't be comfortable supplying him with porn to use for masturbation.  I feel like that crosses the line.

 Maybe he needs new friends
