NATIONAL BE LATE FOR SOMETHING DAY

Go ahead and sleep in a little bit today as you have an excuse.  On September 5, people across the United States annually celebrate National Be Late for Something Day.

Procrastinators’ Club of America was founded in 1956 by Les Waas.  Shortly after the club’s beginning, it’s committee designated September 5 as Be Late for Something Day, an “unofficial” national holiday, as a day to promote the positive parts of procrastination.  ”Most people think they don’t have time to stop and smell the roses,”   Waas says, “This day tries to alleviate that factor.”

It certainly may be hard for some of us to do as we are taught to be “on time” at all times.  We are also taught to obey rules and follow regulations and schedules.  In today’s busy lifestyle’s, there are pressures put on us to be here and be there at certain times and we are always watching the clock.

Today, just take a moment to “stop and smell the roses”, slow down for a little bit, enjoy the scenery, take a few minutes longer for lunch, visit with a friend, play with your children and etc. and just be late for something because of it!!   It will be okay!

HAVE A GREAT NATIONAL BE LATE FOR SOMETHING DAY!

I am almost always on time, but we live rural and sometimes I misjudge how long it will take to get somewhere.
