Could you and your kids live a life circa 1986?

There is a Canadian family who lives life without modern technology. They shun any inventions or technology created after 1986. Their only concession is their car, a 2010 Kia.

Do you think you could give up 'modern' conveniences for a year?

I was 15 in 1986. We had cable TV (no remote but a slider box with a long cord) MTV was really music television and we had a microwave! I could do it! The only sacrifice would be my mobile phone and computer.

I was born in '86, so I don't remember it at all lol. Some things would be fine, but I don't think I could stand doing that for a year. :/

On a sidenote: My parents had a Chrysler Horizon when I was born, it was a pretty good car according to them & would probably still be in great shape. Maybe this family should look into it.

Lovin' the mullets.

It wasn't too different. Short, but bigger hair.

I was in college,  so that would not be a big deal.  I don't see how this could benefit the family.  I mean we had had computers, but they ran such limited things.  No dvr, but cable was there..  ATMs, direct depost, even CD players were out there, so what the heck are they really giviing up, other than a lot of time.
