We currently limit number of texts per month for the three teens living at home.  Even though we still pay for DD19s phone, she is away at college and needs to monitor herself.  So the kids we are talking about are 14, 16 and 16.

We also have limits on when phone needs to be turned off at night.  That has become very lax over the summer.  We are taking advantage of this weekend to re-set expectations.

Really curious what an average number of texts is for teens.  And what better place to find out!

I don't know offhand, we have an unlimited family plan so I don't pay attention.

We have an unlimited family plan. DS is away at college I don't know his. DD is a soph in HS and her's total in thousands (mine do as well) however it's never been an issue with grades or extra curricular activities or sports so I don't worry at this point.

We have an unlimited plan on our phones. My son that just went off to college averages between 20 and 30 thousand texts a month and has consistantly for the last 5 years or so.

We have an unlimited texting plan so I don't monitor their text numbers.  I'm sure some months I text more than they do though :)

While we do have limits on cell phones such as no data (except at home), the phone is put to bed at 9pm in the kitchen during the week, etc.  We have unlimited talk/text.  I don't monitor the exact amount simply because it's VERY easy to rack up a ton of texts.  Probably over 1/2 their texts are one or two word responses.  My ODD has a fairly large group of friends so I am sure she can pull 4000 texts easy in less than a month lol.

Over 4000 a month per kid. I hit about the 3000 mark, my husband hits the 1000 mark. I could care less as long as they keep up their grades, do their chores and actively participate in the family when it is family time. In my day we spent hours talking on the phone. Todays version of that is tecxting.
