Does your teen have a job?

How old was he/she when they started working?

If your teen does not have a job yet, how old will they need to be before they can get one?

DD15 is planning on getting one - she just finished her resume in Careers and plans to use it to get one.

DD13 - delivers flyers three times a week.  She has had the job since August.

My son wants to start working as soon as possible, he's 13, but I've told both my kids I would prefer they not take on a job while they are still in school. A weekend or summer job I would be okay with, but only under the condition that it in no way interferes with their academics.

Yes she works part time, she goes to college full time.

We have a rule in our house that you ahve to get a job once you turn legal working age, which is 14 and 9 months here.

DD19 worked at a vet clinic on weekends doing office work. She is doing a pastry chef apprenticeship now though.

DS17 works with a company that provides instrumental teachers to primary schools, so after school twice a week he goes to the primary school down the road from his high school and teaches piano.

DD14 is 14 and 3 months, so she is going to have to start looking soon.
