No. Soap and water. I used to be pro-hand sanitizer until I had to research the topic to teach to a group of girls on self care. My research shocked me. Much of what I found came straight from the CDC. Experts indicate that hand sanitizer has been a bad, bad development. Among children in particular, they think that using sanitzer eliminates the need for hand washing. And those who use it religiously are actually more likely to get sick, with more serious illnesses. Although it does kill MOST bacteria, the stuff it does not kill are the most dangerous bacteria, and now you've just eliminated their competition. I carry a small bottle for emergencies only, and even then rush to find soap and water as quickly as possible. All in all, hand sanitizer has NOT been a good development.
